Denver Nuggets Raring To Play Away From Home

For the fourth consecutive season, the Denver Nuggets are opening the playoffs on the road. However, this time they believe that things would be different.

Carmelo Anthony said that no one thinks that the Nuggets will go beyond the first round and that has motivated him and his team mates.

In the last three seasons, the Nuggets lost in the playoffs in five games to San Antonio, Minnesota and the Clippers. They have not won a playoff series since 1994.

This time when they face San Antonio, the Nuggets will be having Allen Iverson. The main reason why the Nuggets acquired Iverson from Philadelphia was for his postseason intensity. They believe that Iverson can help them win their first playoff series since 1994.

This season with a 22-19 record, the Nuggets have had their first winning road record in their history. According to center Marcus Camby, this road performance has helped to build the team's confidence as it has always been opposite for them -- good at home and dismal on the road.

However, the Nuggets cannot explain as to why they had an average performance at home and why they have improved on road games.

Camby thinks that the team takes the togetherness with them when they are on the road and that would explain why they have been performing well in games played away from the Mile High City.

While Eduardo Najera thinks that it is because of Iverson as he brings a lot of mental toughness along with confidence and that is rubbing onto everyone. The team thinks that by just having Iverson on the court they are a more complete team. Then there is Anthony who is playing much better than last year.

Najera thinks that the Nuggets' confidence of playing away from home will help the team to advance into the playoffs. While Iverson thinks that the Nuggets have found their rhythm and that should help them win in the playoffs immaterial of the venue.
