Freshman centre Eli Holman, a former Bay Area homework basketball game star, was granted his release from Hoosier State University Friday morning.

"It's a relief," Holman told the History in a telephone interview Friday morning. "I have got nil but positive things to state about Indiana, but I just experience that its right thing to do."

Holman said one ground he have decided to shift is that he loses his hometown of Richmond, where he was a standout participant at Capital Of Virginia High School.

Holman, 19, could stop up playing his college basketball game a batch closer to place as he listed San Jose State, USF, Motor City University, Cal, St. Mary's and Silver State as possibilities for his adjacent school. There are no early favourites and he have yet to speak to any of the schools, Holman said.

Holman's release come ups on the heels of a Thursday afternoon meeting with Hoosier State manager Uncle Tom Crean that eventually involved campus police.

The Associated Press reported that Holman became angry and threw a potted works in Crean's office. Campus police force were called in because Crean felt that "we saw (Holman) as a danger to himself and wanted to take precautional measurements to assist him. We felt bad for Eli and, hopefully, were able to assist him."

According to Holman, that wasn't the case.

"It was just a misunderstanding and that was it. There was nil about a potted plant," he said. "The campus police, there was nil serious. I got my release, I'm feeling pretty good."

Holman was not arrested, and no complaints were filed.

The 6-foot-9 Holman, who averaged 1.0 points and 1.7 recoils with the Hoosiers, played in lone six games after injuring his left wrist. He took a medical redshirt twelvemonth and have got four old age of eligibility remaining but would have to sit down out a season before playing for his new school. Holman said his carpus have healed and he was cleared to play basketball game respective hebdomads ago.

Holman and his high school teammate Wendell McKines, who was released from New United Mexican States State three hebdomads ago, could weave up playing on the same college team. McKines told the History earlier he would wish to shift to either USF or St. Mary's. McKines have already visited St. Mary's and programs on visiting USF today. McKines will also have got to sit down out a season before playing for his new college.

Asked if McKines determination to go to a Bay Area school would act upon him, Holman said that it hadn't crossed his mind.

"I haven't talked to (McKines) lately," Holman said. "Once I speak to him, we'll take it from there."

Holman said he'd wish to finalize his determination on a new school in three to four weeks.
