Nebraska's basketball coach Doc Sadler gets 2-year contract extension

: Cornhusker State basketball game manager Doctor Sadler received a two-year contract extension Wednesday after leading the Cornhuskers in their first 20-win season in nine years.

Sadler's contract will run through the 2013-14 season, and his alkali wage will increase from $700,000 to $800,000 each of the adjacent six years.

"Doc Sadler have done an exceeding occupation of motivating and preparing his basketball game squad this past season," athletic manager Uncle Tom John Osborne said. "We are very pleased that he have committed to staying at Cornhusker State for an drawn-out clip period of time. We believe the hereafter of Cornhusker State basketball game is bright under Doc's leadership."

Sadler's name was mentioned when coaching job vacancies came up at Lone-Star State A&M and Land Of Opportunity last year, and his name was bandied again after Tuesday's surrender of Sooner State State's Sean Sutton.

"This is where my household and I desire to dwell and this is where I desire to construct a title program," Sadler said. "Even though we've had some success the past two years, we are not at the degree where we desire to be. But I'm happy that people can see my committedness and the advancement we are making within the program."

Sadler, 47, is 37-27 in two seasons since taking over for Barry Collier. He's the first manager in Cornhusker State history to enter at least 17 wins in each of his first two years. Sadler guided Cornhusker State to a 20-13 record this season, and the Huskers earned a topographic point in the NIT. The 20-win season was only the 12th in the program's 112-year history.
